You're off to a great start, Tru. I'll start in a month or so. The ground is too soft now but as soon as I can get in the field with the truck I've got a good stash of elm to pull out.

You've got quite the illustrious little splitting area there! I'm jealous!

.. thanks fellas .. hehe, yeah, I like to stay comfortable if possible .. keep that sun off me and I can still split during those Spring rains ..

.. so far I filled one hoop-housin' .. :P .. and about to start a second .. each one holds around a cord and 1/2 .. figure I have enough rounds to do another half a hoop ..

.. this past winter I burned roughly 2 cord with that dinky stove that's prolly 40% efficient at best .. and the wood was pretty poor (dead scrap and poplar) ... next Winter I'll have the Soapstove at 80% efficiency and be burnin' all good hardwood .. should see a much better result ..

.. good luck with your splittin' and stackin' .. I find I really enjoy it .. getting outside when Winter breaks and gettin' after it .. great way to start the Spring/Summer season off ... 8-)

I am envious. Everything I have is really green. Can you ship me some of that?

Dang, I'm envious myself! That is some incredible firewood, we have almost nothing like that here. Nice splitter too!

... now I'm cuttin' up rounds to be split next Spring .. but couldn't move them big fellas, so I gotta quarter 'em and move to where I'll be splittin' next year .. I'll stick one in the post for ya Drew .. ;)

What a beautiful Easter Sunrise you have there Tru. That is truly an awwww inspiring sight, sort of makes you want to hold services there don't it? ;)
