Pizza stone cooking??

Postby Mikimble » Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:06 pm

Anybody ever try putting a pizza stone on top of the barrel, and maybe some kind of tin foil dome, and bake a frozen pizza, cookies, or anything like that? Any reason that would not be a cool thing to try, besides damaging the pizza stone?

Mike, I have done it quite a bit on my outdoor system. I have a 4" hole in the barrel top, so it can get HOT! I think it would work great on a sealed barrel as well, but might not get quite hot enough for some stuff.

I also put the stone inside my weber which I use as a smoker/grill on the barrel top. The stone does a great job of evening out the hot spots.
