Thank you Nutcase. Your idea of cooling the feed in a J has been implemented in a few ways that I can think of. Peter was on to that years ago and structured his secondary air in his refined J design to cool the inlet surround of the feed, to good effect. Good stuff man!

Yes, I have noted that feature in his design and it certainly seems likely that he understands the point very well. He has probably articulated it too, though it never crossed my screen to my recollection. Frankly, my reading of the literature is pretty thin, so I just sort of expect that almost everything I come up with will turn out to be old news. Be that as it may, I'd imagine that a copper coil thermosiphon could be worth a try at some point.

I strongly suspect that your windows have a substantial moderating effect on temps in the fuel box too.

Hey, Matt! So does this thing provide much radient heat or is it just for cooking? Are you still using the bench too?
