Dry Canning

A friend of mine is always giving me a bunch of fresh sauces that I hate to see go to waste. The Lazy Gardener side of me stumbled across the Foodsaver canning method and thought it was a marvelous idea.

Be careful, that's not a way to preserve. Make sure you still refrigerate or freeze anything fresh and discard in the same amount of time you would if it were not in the jar.

Yeah. Someone else just informed me of the lack of preservation and screwing up the machine by sucking up the sauce. Bummer. But it is still cool for dry goods. Maybe the thread will help someone.
