I remember riding in the back of my uncle's pickup as a boy in Georgia. Can't do that anymore, children have to be in a special child safety seat. Bah-humbug!
Kids are supposed to burn their hand on the hot drum...slightly. That's the only way they'll learn not to touch a hot stove. Did Your father put a child-safety guard around your family's wood stove when you were young? When he got you your first bicycle did he get you a helmet to go with it? I'm talking to the 40 year old crowd here mind you.
I still reach over and pick up hot steel with my bare hand occasionally. Then i yelp, drop the item, and cuss myself. Then i don't do that again...for a few days. I also regularly set my pants/ shirt/ vest on fire. Yes, I are a welder.
